Abstract

|
Retroaortic left renal vein is of great importance from the surgical point of view. It has to be properly assessed when planning surgeries such as abdominal aortic aneurysm, lymphadenectomies or any other surgical procedures in the
retroperitoneum.
Damage to the retroaortic left renal vein can cause bleeding. A 58yr old Korean male visited our clinic due to coldness in both legs, intermittent claudication and multiple skin ulcerations. Angiogram showed complete occlusion of infrarenal
abdominal
aorta and both iliac arteries. Computerized tomography showed retroaortic left renal vein. We successfully performed aortobifemoral bypass without any injury to the retroaortic left renal vein.
